This event celebrates the unity and solidarity between Chicanos and Filipinos rooted in the Delano Grape Strike. We aim this year to honor our unrecognized workers as we struggle with them. There will be art focusing on the labor movement from the 60s as well as peformances and speaking on the future and present of our working class struggles.

]]><![CDATA[BAYSHORE BIKEWAY ROUTE]]>Sat, 11 Feb 2012 10:58:16 -0800http://jordanjprojects.weebly.com/1/post/2012/02/bayshore-bikeway-route.htmlLately, I started cycling again. Finally, dusted off the bike and got back to it. Anyhow, in San Diego we have a few pre-made bike routes along our bays. In this case, the Bayshore Bikeway Route runs along Downtown San Diego, Barrio Logan, National City, Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, and Coronado. Every other weekend or so I gather up a few friends and take them on the route. Each rider receives a spoke card with all the check points mapped out. As they pass an existing check point they get a hole punch on their card. Eventually, they'll fill up the entire card!

Sometimes, I get lost watching young minds paint. It's actually really inspiring to know that they are just painting just to paint. Most artists would understand what I mean by saying that.
