Here are some photos from my work's Blick Madness event 2012. A good friend of mine provided the sounds & another provided the arts. Also, the store itself provided a silk screen demo for the customers as well. Take a look! BAYSHORE BIKEWAY ROUTE 02/11/2012
Lately, I started cycling again. Finally, dusted off the bike and got back to it. Anyhow, in San Diego we have a few pre-made bike routes along our bays. In this case, the Bayshore Bikeway Route runs along Downtown San Diego, Barrio Logan, National City, Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, and Coronado. Every other weekend or so I gather up a few friends and take them on the route. Each rider receives a spoke card with all the check points mapped out. As they pass an existing check point they get a hole punch on their card. Eventually, they'll fill up the entire card! WORKS OF WISDOM: THUMBPRINT GALLERY LA JOLLA 01/18/2012
Currently, I have a painting displayed at Thumbprint Gallery La Jolla. The show is titled, "Works of Wisdom". Each piece by each artist involved is designed & based off of a quote, a poem, a saying, or any words of wisdom that has inspired us or that of one we have lived by. Today, my god daughter and her best friend came over to the studio to paint a little bit. Sometimes, I get lost watching young minds paint. It's actually really inspiring to know that they are just painting just to paint. Most artists would understand what I mean by saying that. Anyhow, here are a few shots I took while they're were in action! "THE BRIDE OF FRANK" BY JORDANJ. 12/15/2011
A few weeks back a friend of mine commissioned me to create a mixed media piece for his girlfriend's birthday. The theme is basically based off of vintage and original horror films. I kept everything black and white to keep with the theme and era of the films. Also, the birthday girl has quite a few tattoos that mimic some of these exact characters as well. Here's what I came up with. Everything used was printed and copied from archived images found on the web's general image search. Although, I cannot take credit for any of the original photos or ads in this piece I do have to say that placement, continuity, and overall design plays a very important part in the process. MIXED MEDIA/ DECOUPAGE 40" X 60" W/ CUSTOM BLACK GALLERY FRAME BY JORDAN J. CHECK OUT SOME CLOSE UPS OF THE PIECE BELOW: IRON 833 12/15/2011
Recently, a friend of mine asked me to help custom a Harley Davidson bar clamp for his Iron 833 using an existing stock bar clamp. He basically wanted the speedo and bracket removed/ separated from the shift light indicator/ housing so he can re-mount the speedo in a more discreet area. Also, the point was to save the clamp by itself so he can add drag bars for a cleaner look. Check out the process! This is what the stock speedo bracket/ clamp would look like. Granted, this specific one has already been relocated as a whole and separated from the bar itself. This is more or less the product/ set up I am trying to create/ re-create. This bar clamp averages at a minimum of hundred dollars or so if bought from a retailer. 1. I had to cut and separate the speedo bracket from the shift light indicator/ housing. Also, had to add JB Weld to fill in the open gap at the top of the indicator. 2. I had to dremel out the inside of the housing to make sure the light fixture will fit back in properly. 3. I sanded everything down and smoothed out all the edges from the JB Weld as well. 4. I added spot putty to fill in tiny holes and gaps from the JB Weld and wet sanded it down. 5. Prime & paint. 1972 HONDA CB100. 12/04/2011
Here's an update on my ongoing 1972 Honda CB100 rebuild/ restoration project. All that's left is an electrical re-wiring, lights, and a kick start spindle installation. Here are the before and after pictures. Enjoy! ABOVE: BEFORE BELOW: AFTER MUSIC FOR YOUR EYES. 12/03/2011
